Nadai Fujisoda

Hi guys! I know, I know, I am MIA for 4 months or so. Sorry for that! Really sorry.  To make it up for you, I will post 2 blog entry for today! Yey! So here’s the first one.

Last January, we ate at Nadai Fujisoda in MOA. This is going to be a short review since you know me, I can’t remember the taste of the food especially when it is 6 months or so ago. I may not describe the taste of the food in details but I’ll try to make this review a worth reading.

Last January, I am not the person who I am today! (lols! I’m getting old!) I’m not talking about maturity here, ladies and gents. I’m talking about how I am with food!!!! lols.

Before, I am really choosy when it comes with food.  I’m not really into Chinese or Japanese food. I don’t like Chinese food other than siopao, siomai, mami or any kind of noodles  🙂 I also don’t like Japanese food other than tempura. Who wouldn’t like tempura right? So yeah! I am not that person who’s really choosy about food. I changed! yey!

Thanks to my officemates who loves eating Ramen and those kind of stuffs because of them, I am reborn! lols!

Service : ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ (7 out of 10)
Food : ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆ (6 out of 10)

The staffs are really nice here and very accommodating. Though, I would like to add that some were not really as experienced as most of them but hey, I think it is because they just opened way back in January so they may more experienced today than before.

The food was okay. Not really great but okay. Since, I didn’t like other Japanese food before so I just ordered tempura and my mom ordered a Ramen. Also, because my brother is a sucker of all tempura, we ordered just for him! It turned out that my tempura was better than what he ordered. lols! I didn’t know why mine taste better than him but I think, it is because of the sauce. My tempura came with a rice so I think it is because they drizzle mine with the sauce while if you ordered 3 pieces of tempura, it is just plain.

I didn’t taste any food other than my what I ordered since as I said a few times already in this entry, I’m not really into a Japanese food before. My mom said that the Ramen was good (and so was the price. She ordered a Teishoku set)

Review: Buffet 101

This year’s a full of adventure and food. If you are following me on Instagram you already saw what this year has been to me.

Last August, I’m not the only one who turns a little older, I have my two other friends with me.  We celebrated it in Buffet 101. They said that it has the longest buffet table. And what they say is true. Buffet 101 also has more dessert choices than any other buffet restaurants I’ve been.

Service : ★★★★★★★★☆☆ (8 out of 10)
Food : ★★★★★★★★☆☆ (8 out of 10)

The place is clean and nice. I love the interior of the place. It is so classy. I like how the crew smile every time you pass on their designated positions.

I love how they have lots of food to choose from. I like what I’ve eaten though I forgot them all. Hahaha! Forgive me please. this reminds me that I should post immediately after eating since these days I can be forgetful! I think the three shots of anesthesia during my labor and delivery of my son are now effecting my mind or I’m getting old. (hahahhahahha! shhhh!)

Since I really don’t like Japanese foods aside from Ramen, Tempura and other fried Japanese food, you might guess that I didn’t eat those Maki, sushi and the like. Well, you guess right! lols.

I may forget all the food I’ve eaten that day but I won’t forget the experience and the moment. This might be the first time that our team bond. and we’re almost complete. Thanks to the August celebrants for treating us all. 🙂

Other than watching, writing and reading. Eating is the best way to do if you’re not doing anything 🙂

Review: Charaptor Makati

This event happened last September. One of our officemates treat us dinner at Charaptor Makati. I didn’t know what to expect since it was my first time in a grilling buffet so I open my mind for possibilities. Hope for the best expect for the worst.

Sorry for the poor photo quality.

Service : ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ (7 out of 10)
Food : ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ (7 out of 10)

The service here is great. I was the first one to arrived here since the reservation is 6:30 PM (I think). And the reservation will be cancelled if I didn’t arrived on time. So I ended up going alone. 😛

Going here ahead of time gives you a great benefit or advantage. You can find a better place since it is not yet crowded with costumers. During our visit, t’was raining so I ended up choosing to seat inside. The place is not air conditioned unlike in MOA (that’s what they said. I haven’t dine-in in Charaptor MOA yet.)

The staffs are nice. I remembered asking them if there’s a way for us to be on the same table. They made an L shape table to accommodate us but my officemate suggested to just have a separate tables since it’s a little bit crowded and we can’t move properly. I asked them again to place the tables again on their original places. They do it without hesitations.

I’m not stereotyping all restaurant crews but some of them are snobbish. If you ask them to do something all over again, there will be a possibility that they will roll their eyes on you, say something against you, or do something on your food. But in this case. They did what we asked for with smile on their faces.

It was my first time to be here in Charaptor. The food is great, well, some of them. Though you don’t have lots of food to choose from but it was okay if you are not expecting anything. I love the cream dory wrapped in a foil, but please don’t ever overcooked it. If you cooked it perfectly, it will melt in your mouth once you eat it but if you overcooked it, it will be a rubber.

The only thing I don’t like is the food and the drinks are sold separately, you will add additional fee if you like to have unli drinks. My officemate’s too nice, he also treated us unli drinks which in my case is heaven!!!!

If you spend time with your friends with good food, the moment will be memorable and unforgettable. In this case, I may forget the taste of the food but I won’t forget this moment, the way we laughed and the way we talked to each other because this brought us closer together.

I may not be coming back in Charaptor Makati unless it’s free, but I would like to try the charaptor in MOA.

Please be careful on under-cooked food because you might catch a flu or something.

til next time 🙂

Last September, our dearest translator celebrated her birthday and because of that, she started a contest where in we– her coworkers — should post a pic on our timeline and caption it with what makes us happy. And there will be two lucky winners and the prize was a free lunch 🙂

And let me show you what I posted.

You see, we may all have gadgets, (and gizmos a plenty I’ve got whozits and whatzits galore!!! kidding aside) we have money, we have a job and we’re not poor but what is our happiness? What makes you happy?

They say that Filipinos are among the happiest people in the world and I agree. Why? because we found happiness in small things. be it a friend who stumbled, a gift, a corny joke and so on. We can easily find something funny or happy in little stuffs. And that’s what I really like. We’re not shallow that we found happiness in material things. Yes we love iphones, androids, tablets and laptops. Shopping made me forget my gloomy day. These made our life easy and not boring. But there are more to life than these things. And that’s what I’m proud of being a Filipino because we’re not shallow enough to love these things. We treasure the moments rather than anything else.

So you see, my happiness is my pride and joy; my son.  🙂

Before I do something like crying and posting something that my son will be ashamed of me in the future, let me share to you where my dearest Ms. Maria treated us lunch.

We ate in RYU near our working place in Makati

Service : ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆ (6 out of 10)
Food : ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ (7 out of 10)

The food were delicious, I like their gyoza that I wished I ordered for myself. I ordered a curry though I forgot what kind of curry and I wished I had something else. Don’t get me wrong, I love curry but since I figured out I like my mother’s curry than I ordered from most of the restaurants I figured I don’t like authentic curry because. Just because. Lols! I don’t like the taste of it plus the after taste, ahahahha! I’m so maarte! lols.

I wished I tried their ramen just like my dates ordered but that time, I really don’t like ramen or any other Japanese food, unless it’s tempura but since I have friends who are more than crazy to let me try different cuisines, I can finally say that I can eat ramen. 😉

Thanks Ms. Maria for this wonderful lunch. I really had fun and thanks for let us meet your friend.

Aside from my family, my happiness is FREE FOOD 🙂

Review: Hotel Galleria Davao

And now, we reach to the last post of my Davao experience or not? lols! Here’s the review of where we stayed in Davao.

I, again, want to thank my mother for never ending love and support for us! You may think we are responsible for the hotel and other activities in Davao but actually, It’s my mother’s.  She’s the one who arranged everything. From the airport shuttle to hotel reservation. The only thing I did here is to wait for piso fare and booked us.  Thanks mama!

As I said before, she’s the one responsible for the hotel reservation because if it’s me, we should be in Marco Polo but I know it’s too expensive for us since we’re 17 people. Good thing my mom found this hotel.

I don’t know how my mom did it but she got the penthouse for  3500 php per night. The penthouse can only accommodate for 4 pax I think, but because my mother wave her magic wand. They let us stayed there without extra charged, they even lend us extra beds for free. My mommy Linda booked a different room because we, children (lols!) were too loud.

What can I say about Hotel Galleria aside from they are not really expensive? The staffs are really nice. They remember what you ordered. I ordered hot chocolate once and they remember it the next day. They are accommodating and hospitable.

The place is nice and clean. They have swimming pool! oh yes! hahaha! The only thing I wished they have is an elevator. But it was okay actually. It’s a good exercise. the only time you will wished they have it is when you are tired from whole day touring the city.

I liked their bathroom since it’s too spacious and it has bathtub in it. though I didn’t try to stay long. The penthouse’s too spacious and really nice. and oh! I like their stairway because it’s really dramatic.

This hotel may not have an elevator but that’s just an elevator. It may be old but our experience here was nevertheless great, I wouldn’t ask for other hotel and will definitely book again here for sure.

I rate this hotel…

Review: Dencia’s

Our last stop before going back to Manila is Dencia’s located in General Luna, Davao City. Their specialty is Lugaw together with many other dishes.

Service : ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆ (6 out of 10)
Food : ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆ (6 out of 10)

When we usually eat together in a restaurant and the table is too small to accommodate us all, this is how we separate with the oldies. (Joke lang mommy Linda! I love you!) Let’s face the fact that sometimes even if you are too close with your aunties and uncles there will always be a time that you (youngters) want to be separate from them. Don’t ask me why, because I know for a fact that you know the answer 😛

The place is clean and I thought for a sec that it is a high class restaurant but since my mother read a review before visiting here, I knew for a fact that the place is good for those who are in budget. So I give it a plus point.

We, the youngsters, considered the fact that our flight was at 6-7 PM and for sure we won’t be eating anything for dinner so we decided to have a heavy merienda since it’s was just 2 or 3 in the afternoon.

We ordered wanton mami, fried chicken, shanghai, chop suey (or not) and omelet for mika and of course rice.

The food were tasty, though I can’t find something new about it. I’m living in Tondo since birth and I can find restaurants (cheap ones) that can serve food that are far more delicious than this one.

The food came late actually, we waited for 30 minutes for the food to be served. We continuously following up our food since some of us were hungry. It came to the point that we were scared in asking them about our food since  they might do something in our food so we shut our mouth and wait for another 5 or 10 minutes. (I might be stereotyping all the restaurants but I just want to be cautious.)

As I said before, the food were tasty and so is the dessert. My brother ordered it and look his pictures below. If you rate the food base on my brother’s pictures, how many stars will you give?

Why did I give 6 stars on services, where in fact they should just be given a 4 or 5 out of 10 starts? The staffs are not sociable, and unapproachable if you ask me, but why did I give 6 points? It is because of a one staff who found our money.

Yes! I thought I lost the contributed money but thank goodness for the person (who we forgot to ask his name) who gave back the money. Thank you!

Good thing the staffs are not all masungit. 😛

We’ll update soon!

Review: Jack’s Ridge Davao

Aside from going in different places, eating food is one of the thing we always do. So since we went to Davao last August, we wouldn’t leave the place without trying to taste the food they are offering.

On our last day, we treat ourselves on the Jack Ridge. Since it was Friday, the restaurant is full, we waited for our turn but being tired and starving because it was a long day for us. My mom became aggressive! lols! She tried everything. We were 32 on the waiting list but after 15 minutes or so, my mom got what she wanted. We had a table!!!! Imagine my mother’s power.

Service : ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ (7 out of 10)
Food : ★★★★★★★★☆☆ (8 out of 10)

Aside from the food, there’s this view; the Davao night light is to die for. Aside from your tummy being full because of the food, there are your eyes too! It is like hitting two birds with one stone.

This is the problem in terms of posting reviews more than 2 months ago after you tried the food. You forgot how the taste except that they are really delicious.

I’m sorry for this one since I can’t give you anything but just it is delicious and if ever I go to Davao again, I will surely try it here!

We had Chicken Barbeque, Lechon Kawali, Chop Seuy, sweet and sour fish, Sisig and Pancit and I’m not regretful with what we ordered. I hope we tried a lot more but since the budget was limited and I think we can’t finish it even if we had more money.

Lechon Kawali is crispy, the barbeque were tasteful and the sweet and sour fish is a must try.

Sorry the food review’s too vague. Soon, I’ll post ASAP so that I can give you a more detailed one.

The place is clean, and I wished we stayed longer than we did but since we’re really tired. We needed to call it a day.

This post is too I don’t know. Sorry for this one.
